The Dance

Dimensions: 150 x 150 cm

Materials: oil, charcoal and markers on canvas

Description: A stream of written critical thoughts, which break through the serenity of a visual trance. Thoughts that are criticizing and dwelling on social and political occurrences that take place either in my own country or in the partially capitalist culture of Calgary, which influenced both my work as well as myself. The mere fact that I have come to perceptibly endorse all this writing instead of expressing my ideas through forms is unappealing to me. Thus, this piece is a stream of inconvenient thoughts that breakthrough the serenity of my work. Or rather, it represents the thoughts that I have come to perceive through the metaphor of a Sufi realization
